Il Vendicatore Tossico (The Toxic Avenger) film del 1984 di Lloyd Kaufman; Nella cittadina di Tromaville vive Melvin, un ragazzino imbranato e nerd, che viene giornalmente deriso e maltrattato dai suoi coetanei che gli combinano scherzi di ogni genere. Proprio durante uno di questi scherzi pesanti Melvin, inseguto da alcuni ragazzi, precipita da una finestra e finisce in un camion contenente dei rifiuti tossici; nasce così Toxic Avenger (ovvero Melvin dopo la trasformazione causata dalle sostanze tossiche) che in breve tempo diventa un supereroe amato dai cittadini, combattendo il crimine armato di uno "spazzolone". Il film raggruppa diversi stili cinematografici, dalla commedia demenziale alla fantascienza e lo splatter, senza tralasciare immagini politicamente scorrette (nel film vengono uccisi un bambino, una donna anziana e una cane). Costato meno di 500 mila dollari, fu inzialmente ignorato dal pubblico statunitense, ma successivamente, con il passare del tempo riscoss! e un notevole successo diventando un cult movie e film simbolo del "Troma" (casa produttrice del film). Purtroppo, come spesso accade, la versione italiana del film fu censurata e le parti splatter della pellicola furono tagliate. In ogni caso da non perdere...
